Since the founding of LANCASTER | HELLING, Jim has maintained a diverse corporate and transactional practice, representing individual and corporate clients in:

- contract review, drafting and negotiation, including master services, reseller supply, license, and manufacturing agreements

Experience
Prior to joining LANCASTER | HELLING, Jim was in commercial practice at Snell, Brannian and Trent, P.C. Jim began his legal career as an associate in the Dallas office of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, L.L.P., where he practiced general commercial and complex litigation.
Education & Admissions
Jim received his B.A., cum laude, from Washington & Lee University in 1988 and his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 1992. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Dallas Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of Texas.
Activities & Awards
Jim is a member of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, a nonprofit organization serving families in the greater Dallas area through mental health and education services. He is also a member of the Advisory Board for Heroes for Children, a nonprofit organization providing financial and social assistance to Texas families with children battling cancer. Jim enjoys travel, football, playing golf and tennis, skiing, cooking, and especially spending time with his wife and children.
